Mr and Mrs Griffiths - The Evening

Last week I shared a few photos from my lovely friend Amy's wedding, and as promised I'm back with even more photos from her evening do. By this time the photos became a lot more blurry thanks to far less steady hands, shoddy lights and a few too many drinks. It was so good being surrounded by some of my favourite people, especially as I don't see them anywhere near enough now.

One place you could not keep us out of was the photo booth. So much fun and so many props, it was hard to stay away...

Bring on the next wedding... and photo booth!!

Mr & Mrs Griffiths - The Day Time

Way back at the end of July one of my best uni girls got hitched in Hereford, and what a day it was. We all gathered at the nearby Travelodge to get our glad rags on and head over the to church together to watch our Newmie become 'Newmie' no more. Needless to say Amy looked absolutely beautiful and the whole service was perfect, I only cried once and I promise it wasn't because I was so jealous of the Beetle. I can't quite believe it has been over 3 years since we were sat in our uni house, drafting the perfect flirty yet cool yet casual texts for Amy to send to Stu, planning every date outfit and giving pep talks. They're such a great couple and really bring out the best in each other.

Seeing some of my favourite girls all dressed up was so nice, to this day I still think Kelly looked SO Hollywood, and Amy and her 8 month old bump were just blooming - the bump which is now a gorgeous baby boy who we've all cuddled to death and fought over who got to steal him, ha!

I had to share all of these photos because they make me laugh so much. We thought we'd be clever and lift up the bride, well you can see what happened...

Amy and Stu really lucked out on the weather, it was scorching (there were a few lobsters around by the time the evening do kicked off), it was just perfect. I've saved the evening photos for a second post, because we all know I'm snap happy ;)

My week off

Last month I got in to a bit of a panic when I realised I still had 3 and a half weeks of holiday to use before christmas. As we were having great weather I quickly booked off two weeks in August, and a week in October to get out and enjoy autumn.

Although I did spend half of my time off inside, sorting through my possessions in a bid to declutter, I also got out and about for some of my favourite hobbies: bikes rides, time at the allotment, trips to the beach, charity shop shopping, and day time gymming.

Budeligh Salterton is probably my favourite local beach, despite the pebbles. It's quiet, beautiful and so so pretty. Anywhere with pastel beach huts is pretty awesome, am I right?

Rich bought a storm trooper and I had far too much fun creating scenes with it, poor Lilly!

I'm now counting down to October.

An Evening Bike Ride

Lately I've been pretty crap about going to the gym. The weather has been so good and the last thing I want to do is be stuck inside in the evenings, after being stuck in an office all day. To make myself feel better about my gym slacking I have been taking Claudia out instead.

A few nights ago I found myself riding around in circles for about an hour, just to avoid going home. It was warm, the sun was setting, the air smelt amazing and I wanted to stay out in it forever, or until it got dark and cold. I loving living next to the river and canal so much, there really is nowhere better to cycle and blow away the cobwebs.

Now the evenings are pulling in and it's getting a bit chilly I am upping my game and getting back to classes. Bring on the sweat.

What's in my bag

I'm a nosy bugger, and after Cath Kidston's #totesbig vs #totessmall I've been enjoying what people carry around with them everyday on Cath's Instagram account. I'm definitely a #totesbig girl, I carry everything with me, just in case! So what's in my bag...

1. Purse
2. Headphones
3. Card holder, because I have EVERY store points card going
4. Pens
5. Notebooks
6. Sun cream
7. Hairbrush
8. Keys - usually work and car/house
9. Make up bag
10. Rape alarm, although I wonder if anyone would actually do anything if I ever had to use it
11. Deodorant
12. Hand cream
13. Tissues
14. Perfume
15. A book, currently The Shining
16. Chewing gum
17. Fold up shopping bags

You'll usually find my phone, sunglasses and a few bits of junk floating around in there too.

Pomps Patch #11

Remember in my last post we had all those plums from our fruit trees? Well the last couple of weeks the apple trees were ready for dropping/picking. We ended up with carrier bags full of apples, and another bag of plums, with more to come from both trees. So far I've made two crumbles with the apples and blackberries that I foraged, with more in the freezer ready to go. I do love a crumble. I kind of wish the plums hadn't tasted so nice otherwise they might have made it into jam.

One thing there has been plenty of at Pomps Patch is wildlife. Every time we pull up some old carpet we find frogs/toads/slow worms, and there have been some beautiful caterpillars too. Caterpillars destroy fruit and veg so technically are the enemy, but when they're this beautiful I can't bring myself to kill them. These guys were moved to the safety of the park, away from my crops!! With all this damp weather I have never seen so many snails and slugs, these slimy buggers are EVERYWHERE. I have touched too many with my bear hands than I'd care to think about lately.
