Pomps Patch #10

It's been all systems go up at the allotment lately! The few things we have have been ready for harvest so we've have plenty of plums, onions, garlic and beans to fill our bellies with. The tomatoes are getting bigger by the day and finally starting to ripen, and there is colour everywhere, it's pretty great.

We'd made a start on putting fresh liner down between the beds and covering over what we have already dug up. Eventually we will have gravel on the pathways between the beds, I say eventually because it turns out £20/10 bags of gravel doesn't actually go that far so it will be a work in progress.

My favourite thing about the allotment over the past month has been the colours of the flowers on ours and our neighbours plots, but more so the sound of the bees buzzing around, doing their thing.

I'm kind of glad we're in September now, it'll be nice to spend long days up at the allotment without the heat forcing us to take too many breaks or retreat to the chairs. There is a lot to do, particularly planning for winter veg and getting seeds in the ground, but it's exciting nonetheless.

How are my fellow allotmenters/gardeners getting on?
