Christmas, crafting & a whole lot of Cath :)

And so another year is over, but before I kick start 2012 with a bang I thought I'd reflect on the wonders of Christmas. During the months of huffing and puffing around the shops, searching for gifts comes that magical time of choosing the perfect tree and adding all the christmas sparkle... my favourite part of the festive season.

I was really pleased with the tree this year, tall, plump and full of branches for many beautiful decorations, including those that I had time to make and add a personal touch (I can't take credit for the snowman though)....

Naturally christmas would not be christmas without a traditional nativity set. It may be somewhat hypocritical but it's a tradition I carry on for my Mum as it was something she loved and as kids we fought over who got to arrange the characters...

Christmas was definitely the most inspiring season for crafting (thanks to Kirstie Allsopp and her homemade programs) and many lovely festive items were made, from snowglobes to peppermint creams. But my proudest achievement of the festive season were the stockings I made for my tiny new nephew and my boyfriend - not bad for a first attempt if I do say so myself....

So that was christmas 2011. Now 2012 has begun the craft notebook is out again, projects are being planned and an online shop will be on the cards so watch this space! For now, happy new year and happy blogging!!
