Day trippin' #2 Crazy golfers

Ever since Mr P and I found out that there was a UK crazy golf tournament every year we've joked about entering and giving it a go. Well I say joked, we seem to spend a lot of our weekends hunting down new courses. Needless to say, I suck. I used to be pretty good at the ol' crazy 'sport', but now I've met my match. To say I need to practice is a bit of an understatement (let's just say I've treated myself to a putter from the 99p shop so I can practice at home).

Anyway, I thought I'd share a few photos and a bit of a review of two of the most recent courses we've visited...

Dawlish Warren

As we live in Exeter, we like to look for places to go that aren't too far away and will cost a fortune to go to for the day. We headed down to Dawlish Warren back at Easter (it's only a few miles away from Exeter and a beautiful train ride on a sunny day), but sadly the amusements and fish and chip shops were closed so we embarked on a walk to Dawlish instead. Sadly they were the worst fish and chips I have EVER tasted from 'Baileys', so bad in fact that Mr P (who was born hungry and NEVER wastes food), fed his to the seaguls. To make up for it we treated ourselves to a scrummy cornish ice cream from Gay's creamery - I insist that you go there, it's amazing!

Anyway a couple of weeks ago we revisited Dawlish Warren and this time the amusements were open. I believe it was £4 pp for crazy golf (a little steep but the course looked like pirate heaven and I was mega impressed). Sadly the course did not live up to expectations, it seems all the money was spent on decorations and not on the actual golfing. We whizzed around in no time and were left somewhat disappointed, well I'd just lost so of course I was a sore loser.

Here are a couple of photos from our trip..

Exmouth

This weekend the sun came out to play once again, so we thought it would be rude not to make the most of it and go have fun too. We headed down to Exmouth for a game of crazy golf, a walk on the beach and some good old fish and chips.

I can't recommend the crazy golf at Exmouth enough. It's a bargain at £2 pp for an adult and I believe £1 for a child. The course is fun, exciting and always brings on some giggles. If you can ignore the boy racers cruising along the sea front, it's a brill way to spend the day.

Peppa Pig?
The incredible hulk?

A very pretty Exmouth beach!
After our stroll along the beach we headed into the town in search of a good fish and chip shop. Mr P decided he wanted ketchup on his so couldn't wrap them back up and insisted on carrying them, open, down the street. I warned him to cover them up so the crazy seaguls wouldn't attack but man knows best, or so he thinks har har! We were almost at the crossing to sit by the sea and SPLAT, a seagul pooed luckily only on the paper of Mr P's fish and chips. Needless to say I laughed a LOT.

I hope you had as fun a weekend as we did. What did you get up to?

xx
